José S. Galura
José S. Galura, 86, of Butler, formerly of Newtown, Pa., passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
José was born Dec. 19, 1931, in Bacolor, Pampanga, Philippines. He was the son of the late Valeriano Hernandez and the late Maria de los Santos Galura.
José was the founder and former president and CEO of Philadelphia Health Services.
He attended the United Church of the Nazarene in West Sunbury.
José is survived by his wife, Esther Moon Galura, whom he married Sept. 25, 1965; one son, Brett L. Galura and his wife, Michele, of Falls Church, Va.; and three grandchildren, Madeleine, Sydney and Lance.
Also surviving are three sisters, Estela Marin of Las Vegas, Nev., Florentina Galura of Manila, Philippines, and Clara Estaris of Baguio City, Philippines; and one brother, Constantino Galura and his wife, Melendrina, of Bensenville, Ill.
José was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfonzo and Gaudencio Galura; and three sisters, Eufemia Doyle, Apolinaria Simeon and Lucia Tan.
GALURA — Family and friends of José S. Galura, who died Monday, May 28, 2018, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev.
