Arthur Kearns

Arthur L. “King” Kearns, 91, of Renfrew, passed away on Dec. 11, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 19, 1931, in Butler, and was the son of the late Harold “Bus” Kearns and the late Clara Stamm Kearns.

Arthur was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Korean War.

He worked at Plant 2 at Armco, retiring after 41 years.

Arthur was a passionate volunteer at Sunnyview Nursing Home. He was an avid outdoorsman and a gentleman farmer.

Arthur was a member of Meridian Presbyterian Church.

Arthur is survived by his two daughters, Autumn Moore and her husband, Gary, of Renfrew, and Lori McCann and her husband, Doug, of Renfrew; his son, John “Rowdy” Kearns, and his wife, Lois, of Renfrew; six grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois E. Kearns, whom he married on Oct. 29, 1949, and who passed away on May 28, 1999; one son, Arthur G. Kearns; and two grandsons.

KEARNS — Friends of Arthur L. “King” Kearns, who died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., Butler, with the Rev. Dr. Steve Franklin officiating.

Burial will take place at Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., Butler, PA 16001.
