Up on the Roof event comingButler Downtown will host its second annual Up on the Roof fundraising event July 25 at the tier parking garage in the city.The fundraiser will begin at 7 p.m. on the top level of the garage. Christmas in July fundraiser nearsCENTER TWP — The United Way of Butler County will host its first Christmas in July fundraiser July 20-26 at the Clearview Mall.The public has a chance to win gift packages that range between $300 and $500 in value.Tickets costing $10 for 25 can be put in baskets for each gift and will be drawn at the end of the week. Sawmill Run Road closure scheduledBUTLER TWP — Sawmill Run Road will be closed between Butler Road and Kennedy Drive, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 20 through July 23, for tree removal and road repairs, township officials said.The road closure will include a detour using South Duffy Road, Whitestown Road and South Eberhart Road.Any questions or concerns should be directed to the Butler Township Road Department at 724-287-0885.

Purse auction benefit setCENTER TWP — A purse auction will be held at the mall to benefit the United Way of Butler County and Women United.The Purses for a Purpose Party at 6:30 p.m. July 19 is sponsored by the C.W. Howard Insurance Agency.There will be raffles for 19 purses valued between $200 and $2,000. Tickets for the raffles are $36 and can be purchased online at https://guestlistapp.com/events/300297. Tier garage closes for line paintingThe tier garage in Butler will close at 10 p.m. Friday for line painting of the parking spaces.The garage will reopen Monday morning.All parking permits are to be recognized at any metered space or any parking authority parking lot while the garage is closed, officials said.
