Elsie Mae Riemer
Elsie Mae Riemer, 92, of Butler, passed away on Thursday at Elmcroft in Saxonburg, due to complications associated with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born June 6, 1924, in Butler, to the late Eugene Albert Heasley and the late Ethel Mary Mahan Heasley.
Elsie was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church PCA in Butler. She attended Butler High School, graduating in 1942, before going on to graduate from Butler Business School. Elsie worked in the office of many local businesses including Pullman Standard, Davis Furniture Co., Homer Tack and Sons, Walsh Equipment, Heckett Engineering and Triangle Gasoline before retiring in 1984. She was a life member of Tanglewood Center, where she volunteered thousands of hours over 25 years.
Elsie is survived by one son, James E. Riemer of Butler; one daughter, Carol Sue Hartzell and her husband, Paul, of Butler; one daughter-in-law, Linda G. Riemer of Butler; five grandsons, Jeffrey P. Hartzell and his wife, Jenny, of Butler, Bradley Riemer of Butler, Sam Riemer of Butler, Brian Hartzell of Nashville, Tenn., and Scott Riemer of Harlansburg, Pa.; one granddaughter, Brenda Tatusko of Duncansville, Pa.; seven great-grandchildren; one niece and five nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin P. Riemer, whom she married on June 24, 1944, and who passed away on Dec. 23, 2013; and also one son, Philip W. “Bud” Riemer, who passed away on June 23, 2016.
RIEMER — Friends of Elsie Mae Riemer, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St.Funeral services will immediately follow at 5 p.m. with Rev.
