Irene L. Hemphill

Irene L. Hemphill, 87, of Buffalo Township, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Irene was born on her family's farm Dec. 20, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Glenna L. (Hunter) and Chester S. Harvey. Irene was the widow of Lyle S. Hemphill, who passed in 2000.

She was a longtime member of Pleasant Unity United Presbyterian Church in Fawn Township. Irene enjoyed square dancing, crochet and embroidery, and she was an avid reader.

Irene is survived by her two brothers, Carl Harvey, of Buffalo Township, and Chester J. (Patricia) Harvey, of Buffalo Township; and her sister, Doloris Fredley, of Buffalo Township. Irene is also survived by her brother-in-law, Perry Graham; two sisters-in-law, Dorthea “Dot” Harvey and Thelma “Dolly” Harvey, all of Buffalo Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Harold “Slim” Harvey and Wendell Harvey; two sisters, Joyce L. Graham and an infant sister; and a brother in-law, Alvin “Ike” Fredley.

HEMPHILL — Family and friends of Irene L. Hemphill, who died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, will be received from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, at Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at Pleasant Unity United Presbyterian Church, in Fawn Township, with the Rev.
