Rachel Sedwick

Rachael C. Sedwick, 93, of Grove City, formerly of Kittanning, died Tuesday at Grove City Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Pittsburgh to Fredrick T. and Eunice (Barnhart) Diddle.

Rachael lived most of her life in Kittanning before moving to Grove City. She devoted her life to caring for her family and was also very involved in the community. She was a member of First Church of God, Kittanning, and attended North Main Street Church of God in Butler.

Rachael was the district treasurer for the Women’s Missionary for Union Avenue United Methodist Church and was also a parishioner for the church.

She enjoyed watching television and reading her Bible. Rachael and her longtime friend, Dorothy Weaver, were known as the “Television Ladies.” From 1973 to 1999, she volunteered with the ACMH Hospital Auxiliary and held the office of president from 1986 to 1988.

Rachael loved spending time with her friends and family and formed many close relationships with people throughout her life. Rachael’s family and friends will never forget her passion for life and her caring, loving spirit.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Cinda Benton and her husband, John; her grandchildren, Diane Hunter and her husband, David, William Benton and his wife, Carol, Randal Benton and his wife, Jackie, Jill Benton and Ann Pfund; her great-grandchildren, Adam Benton and his wife, Jessica, Amanda Potsubay and her husband, Wade, Tyler Hunter, Alex Benton, Mitchell Hunter, Sarah Hunter, William Longava, Victoria Longava and Todd Benton; her great-great-granddaughter, Kellynn Potsubay; her brothers, Gerald Diddle and his wife, Lucille, of Overland Park, Kan., and Donald Diddle and his wife, Suzzanne, of Gaithersburg, Md.; her sister, Patricia Koosher of Uniontown; her brother-in-law, Garth Stamm of Oneonta, N.Y.; and many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 65 years, William G. Sedwick, who passed away Aug. 22, 2003; her brothers, Dr. Kenneth Diddle, Robert Diddle, the Rev. Wilbert Diddle and the Rev. James Diddle; and her sisters, Mildred Wienel, Dorothy Miller, Genevieve “Amy” Skinner and Erma Jean Stamm.

SEDWICK — Friends of Rachael C. Sedwick, who died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, with the Rev. John W.
