North Cemetery, 1002 N. Main St. Ext, will host a Wreaths Across America wreath-laying ceremony beginning at noon Saturday, Dec. 17.

The Butler County commissioners, State Rep. Marci Mustello, R-11th, veterans and active service members and their families are expected to be in attendance for the ceremony and the placement of 950 veterans’ wreaths on the headstones of fallen service members laid to rest in the cemetery.

Wreaths Across America is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. The organization’s mission — Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as at more than 3,100 veterans’ cemeteries.
