Jeffrey L. Branem

Jeffrey L. Branem, 63, of Valrico, Fla., died Dec. 24, 2016 at his home.

He was born in Euclid, Ohio, to Willard and Dona McLaughlin Branem.

He was a 1971 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and attended college in Ashland, Ohio, and Slippery Rock. He earned an associate degree from Embrey Riddle.

Jeffrey was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. He was stationed in Louisiana, Germany, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Alaska and Florida. He served during Desert Storm.

Jeff was an avid Boy Scout in his youth. He was a counselor at Camp Bucoco. He earned the high award of Eagle Scout as well as the distinguished Order of the Arrow.

He was also a Jeep enthusiast. His jeep earned an award at the 2014 Bantam Jeep Festival.

Survivors include his ex-wife, Norma K. Bailey Branem, to whom he was married for 41 years. Also surviving are two daughters, Ann B. (Erik) Poyer of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Elizabeth Kate (Tom) Conroy of Chicago. Additional survivors are two grandchildren, Ashlyn and Kinsey Poyer; his sisters, Karen Thompson and Kathyjo Stevens; his brothers, Timothy and Wil; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his good friend, Linda Werner Powlus of Harmony.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

BRANEM — Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life for Jeffrey L. Branem, who died Dec. 24, 2016, and his beloved service dog, Lexie, at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the North Country Brewing Co. in Slippery Rock.A private memorial service will be conducted at one of his favorite places in Pennsylvania in the near future.
