Marilyn Mensch
Marilyn Mensch, 80, of Valencia, passed away peacefully on Dec. 5, 2022, at Concordia Fox Chapel.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert Bruce Mensch; her son, Greg Mensch (Rita) and their two children, Leah, 23; and Abigail, 20; and his son, Brian Mensch (Wendy) and their two children, Brady, 16; and Brianna, 13.
Marilyn was born Dec. 28, 1941, to J. Elwood Fugh and Ruth E. Fugh in Hampton Township. She is survived by her two brothers, J. Elwood Fugh Jr. and Thomas Fugh.
Marilyn attended Pine-Richland High School.
A 1963 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, she obtained a degree in business education. She started her teaching career at Butler High School and later taught business classes full time for 32 years at Pine-Richland High School, until she retired in 2005.
A devout Presbyterian and firm believer in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and God, Marilyn spent many years teaching Sunday school at her church, singing in the choir, and participating in the bell choir. She also enjoyed knitting, needlework, board games, and spending time with her grandchildren, as well as her grandchildrens’ dogs, Milo and Lola.
Marilyn traveled on several motor home trips with her family in the United States and Canada to places like New England, Texas and California. She also enjoyed her travels to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, England, Holland and Africa. For 53 years, she enjoyed taking fishing trips to Echo Bay and Kipawa Lodge in Quebec with her sons and their families. She was a committed voter and recently received a letter acknowledging that she had not missed an election in 50 years.
Marilyn was a wonderful wife to her husband and mother to her sons. Her grandchildren carry fond memories of baking cookies, assembling jigsaw puzzles, shopping, and playing card games with her.
MENSCH — Friends of Marilyn Mensch, who died Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at the funeral home with the Rev. Niki Atkinson officiating.
Burial will be at Mars Cemetery in Adams Township.
