Tom Huston
Born Oct. 27, 1939, in Pittsburgh, Tom Huston, 83, died on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, after a brief battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
He loved God, his wife, Jane, and working with wood. If you’ve met him, you were likely offered one of his hand-crafted footstools.
He also loved bike riding and successfully completed a ride across the state of Iowa with an organization (RAGBRAI) more than half a dozen times.
Tom graduated from Dormont High School and Grove City College before getting his masters of divinity degree in Dubuque, Iowa, and a master’s degree in history from Duquesne University.
He leaves behind his wife, Jane Hoffman; his daughter, Nancy Phifer, and her husband Bill; his son, David Huston; and his grandchildren, Robyn Gidley and her husband Andrew, Beth Phifer, Will Phifer, Alyssa Phifer and Jane Huston.
As he would say, “Enough nonsense, let’s go!”
