BC3 women’s hoops hike record to 5-1
BUTLER TWP — Aslyn Pry scored 31 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked three shots Wednesday night as the Butler County Community College women’s basketball team defeated Jamestown CC, 70-66.
Hailey Metzger had 12 points and 14 rebounds and Emma Johns scored 11 points. Emma Monteleone contributed seven assists.
The Pioneers host CCBC at 5 pm. this Wednesday.
SR resident Brown wins twice Thursday
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown drove two more horses to victory during harness racing action Thursday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Brown won with Xiomara against 9-1 odds in an $11,500 Conditioned Trot. He also prevailed with Free On The Beach, who collected his third straight win in an $8,800 Conditioned Claiming Pace.
Elsewhere on the card, Brushing Up won a $7,200 Conditioned Claiming Pace for owner Ashley Pegher of Cranberry Township.
Butler grad Bocci helps set record
AKRON — Butler graduate David Bocci swam a leg of Clarion University’s 200 medley relay, which set a program record in the event Thursday at the University of Akron’s Zippy Invite.
Connor Cary, Paul Flowers, Bocci and Austin Prokopec swam the relay in 1 minute, 31.36 seconds. The previous record of 1:32.19 was set in 2016.
