Mary Lee Freeman

Mary Lee Freeman, 87, of Cheswick passed away at 5:55 a.m. Thursday at Concordia at Fox Chapel.

She was born on April 2, 1926, in Butler to the late Samuel Pollock and Florence (Blair) Pollock.

Mrs. Freeman was a graduate of Butler High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from Allegheny College. She worked as a juvenile probation administrative assistant in the Butler County office until her retirement on April 1, 1991.

Mrs. Freeman was a member of the Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church and also was a former deacon. She enjoyed cross stitch and crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Freeman is survived by her husband, Charles E. Freeman, who she married on Dec. 27, 1949; her son, John B. Freeman and his wife, Becky, of Sugar Land, Texas; her two daughters, Ann Dumbaugh and her husband, Richard, of Butler, and Kathryn Freeman-Jones and her husband, Jeffery, of Midlothian, Va.; her two grandchildren, Charles E. Dumbaugh and his wife, Jennifer, and Graham M. Jones and his wife, Casey; her great-grandchild, Marek G. Dumbaugh; and her brother, David Pollock of Plymouth, Ind.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Freeman — The friends of Mary Lee Freeman, who passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, will be received from 2:30 to 4:30 and 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will immediately follow at 7 p.m. with the Pastor Merry H. Meloy of St. Andrew United Presbyterian Church officiating.
