Tack

Andrew MacKinney Tack of Ridgewood Road, Shippenville, passed away at his home Friday. He was 50 years of age.

Born Feb. 16, 1963, in Butler, Andy was the son of Kenneth Sr. and Nancy (MacKinney) Tack. His father preceded him in death.

He was married to the former Cheryl Hoffman, and together they raised three children, Patrick, Levi and Lydia, all of whom survive.

After high school, Andy attended technical college and then pursued a career working in heating, ventilation and air conditioning at Clarion University. Andy was a member of Donegal Grange square dance team as a teenager, loved horseback riding and playing and coaching basketball at Immaculate Conception School for both boys and girls.

Andy was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Clarion, where he helped with the moving committee and the memorial committee.

Andy is survived by his wife, Cheryl Tack; his sons, Patrick George Tack and Levi Aaron Tack, both at home; his daughter, Lydia Margaret Tack at home; his mother, Nancy Tack of Worthington; his brothers, Phillip Tack and his wife, Sue, of Worthington, Kenneth Tack and his wife, Maxine, of Chicora and Walter Tack and his wife, Louanne, of Hummelstown; his sisters, Margaret Kutz and her husband, Robert, of Chester, Va., Jean Dobay and her husband, Karl, of Freedom and Helen Tack and her husband, Steve Barby, of Cary N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

TACK — A memorial service for Andrew MacKinney Tack, who died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church, Main Street and 7th Avenue, Clarion, with the Rev. Jason Hunter, pastor, officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in Andy’s honor to the American Cancer Society, the First Baptist Church of Clarion or the Clarion/Forest VNA Hospice Program.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion.
