David 'Dave' S. Blackburn
David “Dave” S. Blackburn, 83, of Portersville, passed away at 8:12 p.m. Friday in the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born on March 15, 1930, in Butler, to the late L. Homer Blackburn and Grace (Lackey) Blackburn.
Mr. Blackburn worked at Butler Armco in the Inspection Department, retiring in 1973. After retiring he became self-employed as an equine dentist from 1973 to 2006.
Mr. Blackburn was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 417 of Prospect and also a member of the Marine Corps League. He was Protestant by faith.
Mr. Blackburn is survived by his son, Randy Blackburn and his wife, Carole, of Cody, Wyo.; his daughter, Elaine Huselton of Shalimar, Fla.; his three grandsons, David, Michael and Steven Huselton, all of Butler; his four great-grandchildren; his brother, Hugh Blackburn of Slippery Rock; his companion, April Windhorst of Portersville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Blackburn— The friends of David “Dave” S. Blackburn, who passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home with the Rev.
