Harrison C. “Chick” Shaw Jr.

Harrison C. “Chick” Shaw Jr., 65, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, died Wednesday afternoon in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.

Born Jan. 1, 1951, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Harrison C. and Elizabeth Berthold Shaw Sr.

Chick had been a heavy equipment operator for Vogel Disposal in Mars.

He belonged to the Teamster's Union Local 249 and the Mineworkers Union. He attended the CrossWay Church and was a member of John E. Mair Lodge 729 F. & A.M. He also was a social member of the Mars V.F.W. Post 7505.

He most enjoyed being with his family and friends and riding his motorcycle.

Surviving are two daughters, Michelle Henderson of Valencia and Alisha Shaw of Morristown, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Madalyn and Noah; three sisters, Bernadette “Bernie” Vogel and her husband, Richard, of Mars, Georgian Colwell of Knox and Doreen Lager of Valencia; and nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara McCollim Shaw, who he married Jan. 15, 1972, and who died Oct. 3, 2012.

SHAW — Friends of Harrison C. “Chick” Shaw Jr., who died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, are invited to a memorial service at 4 p.m. Saturday at the CrossWay Church, 109 Davis Road, Valencia, with the Rev. James Golla officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.Memorials may be made to the Mars VFW Charities, 331 Mars-Valencia Road, P. O. Box 90, Mars, PA 16046.Arrangements are under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
