The first-ever Butler High School girls' varsity basketball team is shown in this photograph from Feb. 21, 1975. Members of the inaugural Tornado girls team were, front row from left: Ann Kotch, Mary Spagnola, Brenda Kriley, Margie Leyland, Diane Rider and Pam Snyder; back row, Lisa Zitalone, Kim McCarthy, Beth Painter, head coach Sue Benjamin, assistant coach Fay Steving, Valerie Magness, Lynn Gianneski and Sharon Schofield. The Tornado posted one victory in their first season. This year's squad is 16-1 overall and 10-0 in section play.
