E. Eileen Vogel, 82, of Mars passed away Saturday morning after a short illness at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township with her family at her side.

Born in Phoenix, Ariz., on Jan. 30, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Margaret Lawless Johnson.

Eileen retired after 25 years as a dispatcher for Spector Freight of Evans City. For 18 years she was the owner of 3-D Ceramics in Mars.

She was a generous supporter of local volunteer community organizations. She was a member of the St. Kilian Church and the Silver Sneakers in Mars.

She was the beloved wife of 62 years of Donald E. Vogel, who she married on March 8, 1952, and the loving mother of Debra Vogel of Las Vegas, Donna Steed and her husband, Vincent, of Cranberry Township and Diane Vogel of Mars. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Danielle Gundlach (Alan) and Vincent Steed II; her two great-grandsons, Logan and Luke Gundlach; her two sisters, Irene Kanerva of Portage, Mich., and Patricia Johnson of Arnold, Calif.; and her two brothers, George Michael Johnson and his wife, MaryAnn, of California and Paul Bernard Johnson and his wife, Patsy, of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her infant twins, Gale and Dale Vogel; her sisters, Helen Lepker, Julianna Easton and Mary Jane Johnson; and her brother, Hubert Johnson.

Vogel — The friends of E. Eileen Vogel, who passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be at the St. Kilian Church at the corner of Clark and Cherry Streets, Mars, at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Fr.
