SR runners get Region 2 honors

ERIE — Slippery Rock High School junior cross country runner Viktor Zahn has been named first team District 10, Region 2. Rocket senior Anthony Robare was named to the second team.

SR sophomore Tessa Syzmanski made first team on the girls side with senior Lexi Doerflinger being named second team.

Knoch grad Boyer athlete of week

ERIE — Knoch graduate Madilyn Boyer, a freshman guard for Penn State Behrend, has been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Boyer shot 50 percent from the floor and scored a season-best 22 points while grabbing nine rebounds in a win over Fredonia. She sank six 3-pointers.
