Pioneer women improve to 4-1
PITTSBURGH — Aslyn Pry scored 22 points, 15 rebounds and had seven assists as the Butler County Community College women’s basketball team defeated the Point Park JV, 63-44, recently.
Hailey Metzger added 16 points and three steals for the Pioneers (4-1) while Emma Monteleone added 15 points and five rebounds, Emma Johns eight points and nine rebounds.
BC3 hosts Jamestown CC at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Butler grad Morton shines in tourney
PORTLAND, Ore. — Butler graduate Ethan Morton produced 19 assists and turned the ball over just once for Purdue as the fifth-ranked Boilermakers won the eight-team Phil Knight Legacy Tournament in Portland, Ore., over the weekend.
Morton had nine assists and two rebounds in Purdue’s 80-68 win over West Virginia. He had eight points, four assists and four rebounds in an 84-66 win over Gonzaga and six assists and six rebounds in the 75-56 championship game win over Duke.
Morton was named to the all-tournament team.
