Mahan

Floyd L. Mahan, 95, of Middlesex Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022.

Born in Butler on May 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Floyd A. and Lula Logan Mahan.

Floyd was the beloved companion for 35 years of Nancy Schmidt.

A U.S. Navy World War II and Korean War Veteran, Floyd was the longtime owner of Mahan Boat Sales. He was a member of the John E. Mair Lodge 729 in Mars, the VFW in Freeport, American Legion in Curtisville, Elks 377 in Leechburg and Moose 957 in Harmony.

Floyd enjoyed boating and was an avid boater. He navigated most of the rivers east of the Mississippi. He ran the full length of the Mississippi — 2,400 miles — from beginning to end. Floyd shared his love of boating with family and friends. Many memories were made on those boat rides.

MAHAN — Friends of Floyd L. Mahan, who died Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
