NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – Media outlets in Florida released footage obtained late last week of Nassau County investigators interviewing murder suspect Kimberly Kessler.

Kessler, 50, is originally from Butler County, but left the county in 2004 and has since lived in various states under as many as 18 aliases, according to police. Kessler is accused by the sheriff's department of Nassau County, Florida, of the first-degree murder of Joleen Cummings, a co-worker at a hair salon. Cummings went missing in May 2018.

Nassau television station Action News Jax obtained video of investigators pressing Kimberly Kessler for a confession in the Cummings' murder. According to the media outlet, investigators explained to Kessler they collected evidence linking her to Cummings' disappearance. Authorities further told her they obtained and executed search warrants for her car and storage unit.

“We also have recovered your shoes that has Joleen's blood on your shoes,” said the investigator in the video obtained by the station. “So I just want you to, if something happened, that you didn't intend to happen, I want to talk to you about it … ”

Authorities gave Kessler the opportunity to confess to playing a role in Cummings' disappearance. She told investigators she would not discuss the case without an attorney, according to Action News Jax.

“So let me reply this way, and you may not like the answer,” Kesler said in the video. “I would like legal counsel. I haven't been able to call anybody, I haven't been able to call my mom. And I see how that works.”
