Charles Marshall Kerwin

Charles Marshall Kerwin, 98, of Deland, Fla., formerly of Butler County, passed away Monday at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Fla., after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Center Township, the son of the late Dennis A. Kerwin and Hazel (Renick) Kerwin.

Charles retired in 1971, after 34 years of employment with Armco Steel, now AK Steel. He received an award on Feb. 27, 2012, for 76 years of continuous service at Armco/AK Steel. He was a member of the Merritt Island Moose 2073, the Spaceport Fraternal Order of Eagles 3581 and the Titusville Elks 2113.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia L. Craig of Butler and Mrs. Terry (Denise) Heist of Deland, Fla.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice Stevens of Carthage, Texas; and a brother, Kenneth D. Kerwin of North Miami Springs, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fitzpatrick Kerwin, who died May 27, 1985; two sons, Jack and Charles; a sister, Frances Wallace; and a brother, Dale Kerwin.

<B>KERWIN</B> — A memorial service for Charles Marshall Kerwin, who passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, will be later at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, 333 E.
