Shirley Mae Mottern, 83, of DeLand, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away Wednesday.

She was a retired inventory, export computer operator for Spang of East Butler and a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Butler.

She was the daughter of Earl C. and Garnet R. Heist and is predeceased by her husband, Lee M. Mottern, in April 29, 1998; and her brother, Earl E. Heist in 2005.

She is survived by her sister, Gloria G. Heist of Orange City, Fla.; her brothers, Terry H. Heist of DeLand, Fla., and Kenneth L. Heist of Palmerton, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
