Viola C. Black
Viola C. Black, 89, of Butler passed away peacefully Sunday evening at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
Born on Jan. 25, 1924, in Chicora, she was a daughter of the late Harry Black and Carrie (Campbell) Black.
She retired from the housekeeping department of the VA Butler Healthcare in 1988. She also worked at the Butler Shirt Factory and Bobbie Brooks.
Surviving are her daughters, Delores (Charles) Heath of Penn Hills and Nancy (John) Kalac of East Butler; one brother, Bernard Black of Chicora; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Black and Leroy Black, and three sisters, Estella Bergbigler, Helen Black and Esther Thompson.
BLACK — Friends of Viola C. Black, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
