Toby L. Woodward

Toby L. Woodward

Toby L. Woodward, 61, of Butler died Tuesday from complications related to a stroke.

Toby was born April 15, 1955, in New Jersey, the daughter of Oke and Ingrid Andersson Lind. She married on May 19, 1984, to Michael W. Woodward.

After obtaining her bachelor's and master's degrees from Slippery Rock University and principal certificate from Westminster College, Toby embarked on a career as an educator in the Pennsylvania school system. Nearly three decades later, she retired in 2015 from her position as director of special education at Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV.

Retirement provided the opportunity to begin a new and fulfilling chapter in life and Toby spent many rewarding days volunteering with her church and local food bank. When not occupied with serving others, she made time to enjoy the outdoors, cheer for the Blue Sox and spoil her grandson.

Mrs. Woodward is survived by her husband; her sons, Christopher J. (Julie) Petrak and Michael T. (Corinne) Woodward; and her grandson, Hunter Woodward.
