JEFFERSON TWP — Registration is open until Feb. 1 for the upcoming semester of classes offered by the Concordia Institute for Lifelong Learning.

Classes start Feb. 9 at Concordia Haven Apartments, in cooperation with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Pittsburgh.

Subjects include beginning German, beginning Spanish, ballroom dancing, typing, decorating, poetry and computer use.

Singing Valentines will be given by the Greater Harmony Chorus from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 13 and 14. Recipients will get a love song sung to them by a barbershop quartet, a personalized card and a balloon. Valentines will be delivered within a 50-mile radius of the city of Pittsburgh. MERCER COUNTY — The Northwest Pa. Auctioneers Association will hold its annual spring auction Feb. 19 and 20 at the Hermitage Veterans of Foreign Wars Club, State Route 62 between Hermitage and Mercer. HARMONY — Jason Cherry of Butler will sign copies of his book "Sassafras in the Window" from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Harmony Museum Shop, 222 Mercer St.The illustrated historical fiction book for young adults and children depicts an aging George Washington reminiscing during a Christmas at Mount Vernon about his 1753 mission to Western Pennsylvania.
