Duane James Richards

Duane James Richards, 66, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away Tuesday.

He was born Oct. 2, 1950, in New Castle, Pa., to JoAnn and Robert Richards.

Duane proudly served his country for 40 years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Army.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Patrick.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Prokop Richards; his son, Darrin F. Richards; his siblings, Deborah J. (Gary) Scheib, Daniel J. (Nancy) Richards, Denise J. (Richard) Burgett and Reed R. (Kim) Richards; and several nieces and nephews.

RICHARDS — Friends of Duane James Richards, who died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, were received Thursday at the Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Ga.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today in the funeral home's chapel with Reserve Officers Association chaplain Sherman Reed officiating.
