Flat-bed trail collapses on Route 422 ramp
BUTLER TWP — A flatbed trailer collapsed under the weight of its load Friday afternoon on the ramp from Route 8 south to Route 422 east, but no one appeared to be injured and traffic was not affected.
The truck, owned by PGT Trucking of Monaca, pulled onto the ramp’s shoulder after its trailer buckled near its center under the weight of the tarp-covered load about 12:45 p.m. Friday.
Representatives from PGT were not immediately available to comment on what the truck was carrying.
Several township police cars, with emergency lights flashing, parked behind the trailer as a crane from Infinity Crane and Excavation of Ford City waited to transfer the load onto a new trailer. According to a police dispatcher, the new trailer was expected to arrive by 3 p.m. Friday.
