Katie Sines had three goals and two assists as the Slippery Rock University women's hockey team defeated American, 7-3, in Wheaton, Md., over the weekend.

Alli Zube contributed two goals and an assist to the win, while Megan Hubbard and Kellianne Burdorf added a goal each.

Goalie Emily Greer made 28 saves.

The Rock followed that road win with a 5-4 triumph at the University of Maryland. Zubie had three goals and Sines netted the game-winning tally.

Burdorf also scored for SRUand Greer had 24 saves.

SRU hosts California (Pa.) at 6 p.m. Saturday at Warrendale BladeRunners.
