SRU women score road win
Deleah Gibson scored 25 points Wednesday night as the Slippery Rock University women’s basketball team defeated Notre Dame (Ohio), 76-63, ion South Euclid,. Ohio.
Isabellah Middleton contributed 23 points and eight rebounds for The Rock (2-1), while her sister, Kennedy, scored 17 points and had four assists.
SRU concludes its four-game road trip to open the season Saturday afternoon at Ursuline (Ohio).
SRU (men) 105, Penn State Greater Allegheny 70 — Amante Britt scored 20 points and added three assists for The Rock, off to its first 3-0 start since the 2009-10 season. Jonathan McFall added 18 points and four rebounds.
SRU hosts Daemen at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Morrow Field House.
Football
SRU had a league-high 14 players earn All-PSAC West honors as the conference released its all-star squads Wednesday.
First-team honors went to running back Chris D’Or, tight end Max Maciejewski, return specialist Jawon Hall, defensive linemen DJ Adediwura and Jeff Marx, and defensive back Jalen Dangerfield. Second-team honors were accorded to quarterback Noah Grover, tackle Yuriy Hryckowian, guard Colton Rossi, center Jeff Burkhart, receiver Kyle Sheets, linebacker Brandon Tuck-Hayden, defensive back Jacob Williams and punter Kyle Butts.
