Horsemen shine in harness racing

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Five Butler County horse trainers and drivers were involved in three victories during harness racing action Tuesday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Aaron Johnston of Evans City collected a training/driving win when Windy Island captured her second straight triumph. His brother, Shawn Johnston, teamed with their father, trainer Gary Johnston, in guiding Play For Me to victory in a $10,900 Conditioned Pace. Butler residents Abigail and Grace Wright own the 2-year-old filly.

Driver Brady Brown of Slippery Rock and trainer Steve Schoeffel of Evans City won an $8,800 Conditioned Trot with Cyurry Hanover, owned by Virginia and Kathy Schoeffel of Evans City.
