Meridian Road in Penn Township closed between Railroad Street and Smith Road Monday due to a landslide, according to a Tuesday news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The roadway will remain closed until further notice as crews conduct debris removal and geotechnical engineers evaluate the hillside.

To detour, motorists should use Meridian Road to Brownsdale Road to Pittsburgh Road to Hansen Avenue to Whitestown Road back onto Meridian Road, the news release said.
