Carson

Barbara Ann (Wolford) Carson was born on May 15, 1932, and went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 12, 2022.

It has been said that “Barb never met a stranger.” She lived an extremely active and full life, working at the Employment Office and volunteering in several organizations, such as the Friends of the Library and the Special Olympics, where she assisted with swimming. Barb could often be found at her church, North Street Christian Church, where she served in many capacities, most famously for her involvement with Children's Ministries, such as Wednesday night Pioneer Club and VBS day camp. She was a believer in Jesus Christ, and now her faith has become sight as she is experiencing the promise of heaven with her Lord.

Though she had no biological children of her own, Barb was an extra Mom and Grandma to so many people. Uninhibited and passionate, every encounter with Barb would eventually become a cherished memory. She prided herself on being a “crazy cat lady,” loved VW Beetles and took much joy in giving gifts to people, which she insisted should be called “remembrances.”

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Jennie (Murphy) Wolford; a sister, Mary Lou (Wolford) Plouchard; and her husband, Cliff, whom she married Feb. 21, 1992.

She is survived by a brother-in-law, Charlie Plouchard; four nephews, Gary, Gordon, Glenn and Greg; as well as numerous other extended family members.

CARSON — Friends of Barbara Ann (Wolford) Carson, who died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A memorial service to honor the life of Barb will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at North Street Christian Church, 226 W. North St., Butler, with Pastor Jeffrey Miller and Pastor Jake Klutinoty officiating.

Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics Pennsylvania, 316 Pleasantview Ave., Butler, PA 16001.
