Thomas L. Schrecengost Sr.
Thomas L Schrecengost Sr., 77, of Grove City, formerly of Ford City, died Sunday in the Grove City Medical Center, Grove City.
Born March 11, 1934, in Ford City, he was the son of the late Walter and (Wilda) McGuire Schrecengost.
A radio personality for 45 years, Tom began his on -air career at WACB, Kittanning, in the 1950s. Known as Tom Lee and Tom Lyons, he worked at WTAE AM and KQV AM, top 40 stations in Pittsburgh, before moving to California to continue his career. He was a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Announcers.
A sports enthusiast, he played varsity basketball for Hube Rupert at Ford City High School, earning him numerous awards, All Section 1, All WPIAL and All State Honors.
He attended Westminster College, playing three years of varsity basketball. After his playing days, he became a high school basketball referee and was inducted into the Armstrong County Hall of Fame in 2007. Tom was an avid golfer and softball player and enjoyed playing computer games.
He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Ford City as a youth.
Tom is survived by his wife, Cathy B. (Harmon) Schrecengost of Grove City; his children, Linda (Gray) Weller of Mars, Thomas (Diane) Schrecengost Jr. of Wexford, Bambi Stock of Vero Beach, Fla., and Sherry Schrecengost of Mercer; four grandchildren, Matthew Weller, Alyssa Schrecengost, Eric Schrecengost and Heather Stock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Steim.

Ed Clarke officiating.
