Clearfield Township man dies Friday after falling from a roof
A 72-year-old man died Friday afternoon after falling from the roof of a home in Clearfield Township, authorities said.
The accident happened about 2:30 p.m. as the man was taking measurements to replace a broken window at the small, two-story house where he was born and raised, according to investigators.
The home is vacant, and the man lives with his wife in a house behind it, authorities said.
State police investigated the incident but a report, including the man's name, was not immediately released.
Butler County Deputy Coroner Larry Barr pronounced the man dead at the scene shortly after 3 p.m. There was no autopsy performed, and the cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma to the head. The manner of death was accidental.
