Homer Renick, tree farm owner
Homer Merle Renick, 84, of West Sunbury died Saturday at the Chicora Medical Center.
Born Sept. 3, 1922, in West Sunbury, he was the son of Paul and Daisy Isadora Hockenberry Renick.
He attended the Butler Assembly of God Church.
He was a 1940 graduate of Butler High School, then he worked at the Butler Airport as an airplane mechanic until serving in the Army Air Corps from January 1945 through September 1946.
He later graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1950 with a degree in electrical engineering.
He owned and operated The Renick's Tree farm, established in 1950.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Louise Shoemaker Renick, whom he married March 1, 1952; a daughter, Nancy J. Renick and her husband, Melvin "Jim" Grossman, of West Sunbury; a son, Ronald P. Renick and his wife, Linda, of West Sunbury; three grandchildren, Christopher "Paul" and Marsha Renick and Shea Bohaski; two sisters, Cleora McCandless of Meadville and Mrs. William (Jane) Biehl of Silver Springs, Md.; and a brother, Arthur Renick of West Sunbury.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
<B>Renick</B> — Friends of Homer Merle Renick, who died Saturday, May 19, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B> in Butler. Funeral services will be held at the Rider Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Dennis Hindman officiating.
