Georgie A. Butler
Georgie A. Butler, 77, of Saxonburg passed away Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born on Jan. 8, 1936, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Pander.
Georgie was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. She went on to graduate from Geneva College in 1957 with a bachelor's degree in education.
She was a special education teacher for New Horizon's School in the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit.
She was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she was active in women's Bible studies and the sewing and quilting group. She was a longtime volunteer for the Special Olympics in Beaver County. Georgie enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her loving son, Garett K. (Amy) Butler of Cabot; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Butler, and her grandsons, Christopher Butler and Aaron Butler, all of Cabot.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Butler, who passed away in 2001.
BUTLER — The friends of Georgie A. Butler, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Main St., Saxonburg, with the Rev.
