Summit Township man dies after crashing his pickup truck
OAKLAND TWP — A Summit Township man died Tuesday when his pickup truck rolled down an embankment on Fallecker Road.
Lewis Fallecker, 49, was thrown from the truck during the 1 p.m. crash and was taken by East Butler Ambulance to a waiting medical helicopter, which moved him to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Allegheny County Medical Examiner Rick Lorah confirmed today that Fallecker died of blunt force trauma to the head. He was pronounced dead at 10:34 p.m. at the hospital.
State police Trooper Ronald Kesten said an investigation revealed that Fallecker was intoxicated, and that excessive speed was a factor in the accident.
Capt. Don McCoy Sr. of the Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Company said the truck ran off a curve near 631 Fallecker Road, sliding off the east berm and over the embankment.
