ALLEGHENY TWP — An unidentified motorcyclist was killed Friday evening after a collision with a car on Route 38.

According to Butler County Deputy Coroner Denny Trzeciak, the male rider involved in the 7:40 p.m. crash had no identification on him and his motorcycle, which is a collection of Harley Davidson, Triumph and other motorcycle parts, has a Tennessee license plate.

State police on Saturday morning were working to identify the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene near Stone Church Road at 10:15 p.m.

Trzeciak said it appeared the motorcycle rider was headed north on Route 38 when his bike crossed the center line and stuck the car head-on. The car driver, whose name was not released early Saturday morning, did not appear injured, Trzeciak said.

According to David Whitehill, assistant fire chief with the Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department, Route 38 was closed and a detour was set up for several hours while emergency crews, led by the Eau Claire Volunteer Fire Department, worked at the scene.

Emlenton firefighters, the Emlenton Ambulance service, state police and the county coroner’s office also responded to the crash.
