Kaye Kim Reiber
Kaye Kim Reiber, 66, died peacefully on Nov. 2, 2022, at Concordia Skilled Nursing Center of Cabot.
Kaye was born on Feb. 7, 1956, in Greensburg, the daughter of the Rev. Joseph M. Kim and Mary Elizabeth Van Kirk Kim.
Kaye is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas; her son, Kim (Lauren); her daughter, Anne (Andy); her grandchildren, Benjamin, 5, and Ellie, 2; and her brother, Kirk (Kay).
Kaye was a graduate of Chatham College for Women, Slippery Rock University and Edinboro University.
Kaye grew up in churches across the East Coast, Youngwood and Scranton, Pa., and Syosset, N.Y. She and Tom belonged to Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople for nearly four decades, and some of their best friends were made through the frequent events at Calvin.
Kaye valued lifelong learning. Among her many careers, her most cherished was teaching kindergarten in the Slippery Area School District.
A woman of the world, Kaye and Tom traveled extensively in their retirement, spending many weeks each year experiencing the wonders of Europe.
Kaye’s creativity was most easily seen through her love of cooking, antiques, interior design and gardening.
In their retirement, Kaye and Tom opened a bed-and-breakfast, The Blue Thistle, where they entertained travelers from all over the country.
REIBER — The family of Kaye Kim Reiber, who died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, will hold a celebration of her life in the future and details will be shared when they have been finalized.
