A Lyndora man charged with trafficking MDMA as well as a driving under the influence entered guilty pleas in both cases in Butler County Court on Wednesday.

David L. Weichey Jr., 34, pleaded guilty to felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communications facility, misdemeanor DUI, summary driving on a suspended license and a traffic violation before county Judge Timothy McCune.

The plea agreement calls for a sentence of 24 months in the county intermediate punishment program, 12 of which will be served on house arrest with electronic monitoring, and probation, restitution, fines, costs and community service to be determined by the court at the time of sentencing on Thursday.

According to the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics, Weichey sold the synthetic drug MDMA on two separate occasions to a police informant during a five-month investigation that began with a probe of MDMA sales in and around Butler.

Investigators described Weichey as an “MDMA trafficker.”

MDMA is the pure form of Ecstasy, commonly called “Molly.”

The transactions occurred on Aug. 22 and 29, and were set up using cell phone communication.

Weichey was initially charged with four counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.

The DUI incident occurred on March 20, 2016, in Butler Township, when he was found driving under the influence and on a suspended license.
