MERCER, Pa. — Major charges against a Boyers man were withdrawn in relation to a prostitution case that was filed last month.

Felony unlawful contact with a minor, misdemeanor corruption of minors and patronizing prostitutes charges were filed by the Grove City Police Department in October against Joshua J. Lamping, 23.

Those charges were withdrawn during a preliminary hearing on Oct. 25.

Police initially alleged that Lamping attempted to inappropriately meet a 16-year-old girl in September.

A misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct will proceed, according to online records.

It is not known why the charges against Lamping were withdrawn.

Lamping was released from Mercer County Prison on Oct. 25 on $10,000 unsecured bail. He is scheduled for formal arraignment on Dec. 27.
