'Grease'
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock High School will present the musical "Grease" at 7:30 p.m. April 8 through 10 at the school, 201 Kiester Road.
The $7 tickets are being sold from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays in the school athletic office, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium or by calling 724-794-2960, Ext. 2127.
Based on the book by Jim Jacobs with music and lyrics by Jacobs and Warren Casey, the story centers around a 1950s summer romance between a good girl and a greaser.
The show is being directed by Marietta Carney, with Ralph Christy Jr. as staging director. Janine Berner and Lori Giesler are the director's assistants.
Cindy Gerwig is producing the show, with Heather Groves as vocal director, Les Fine as orchestra director, Kevin Shields as rehearsal accompanist and Ralphy Christy Jr. as choreographer. Christy also is serving as scenic designer, with Kathy Wood and Kelly Wood as scenic artists. April Green is student choreographer, with Sarah Kozar and Melissa Patterson as assistant student choreographers.
Costumes were coordinated by Connie Laughner-Ramirez and Phyllis Smith with help from Gail Brazell, Eva Brenneman, Susan Cravener, Pam Pastrovich, Jackie Pryor and Judy Snyder.
Karen Ford was responsible for properties and set decorations, with Jen Badgett, Nola Nolen-Holland, Alex Remlinger and VitaStile Hair Designs on makeup and hair.
Bob McGuire was construction crew chief. Construction staff included Doug Benninger, Bob Kozar, Chris McLaughlin, Van Plummer, Dan Umstead and Curt Wright.
Sis Warcup did program design and layout.
The Greased Lightnin' Car was designed and built by Doug Benninger and Bob Kozar.
