Sports publication honoring tourism bureau
The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau’s 2021 Dick’s Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic has been recognized as a 2022 Champion of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism by Sports Destinations Management, a national sports tourism publication.
This year’s winners are responsible for contributing a more-than-welcome boost of about $2.42 billion to the national economy over the past year. Seventeen USHL teams and 30 youth organizations participated in the Fall Classic in September 2021 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, resulting in 3,357 room nights and a $2.5 million total economic impact.
Award winners have been recognized in a special feature published in the November/December 2022 issue of Sports Destination Management.
