Jonathan A. Mazar
Jonathan A. Mazar, 36, of Butler died unexpectedly Friday at his home.
Born July 20, 1979, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Nancy F. (Pollock) Mazar and the late John A. Mazar.
He graduated from high school, went to the Butler County Community College, also Slippery Rock University, and then went on receive a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Jonathan was dedicated to weight lifting and training, as he was the owner of the Slippery Rock Barbell Club.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Mazar of Butler; one uncle, Walter (Carolyn) Mazar of Butler; two aunts, Miriam (David) McElhaney of Cranberry Township and Doris (Rudy) DeLatt of California; two great-aunts, Rose Marie Williams of Pittsburgh and Kay Zgibor of Butler; and also numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, John A. Mazar, who died Feb. 11, 2015, and by his grandparents.
MAZAR — Friends of Jonathan A. Mazar, who died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Butler.Donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
