David Cadugan

Cadugan

On Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, David E. Cadugan, 80, of Butler, slipped the surly bonds of earth and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings and put out his hand and touched the face of God.

Born July 25, 1942, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Jonathan Cadugan and Jane McLaren Cadugan.

Dave had worked as a general sales manager for F. Tinker & Sons, retiring in 2016. He was a member of Summit Presbyterian Church, Saxony Shrine Club, Butler County Pilots Association, a lifelong member of the Knights Templar of Pennsylvania, where he was Past Master, and a former member of the Greentree Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed flying the plane that he and his wife Kathy built together. (He always said that real aviators fly home-builts). He also enjoyed puttering around in his garden and never passed up the opportunity to tell a good joke.

Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer (Ernie) Barger of South Charleston, W.Va.; his son, Douglas Cadugan of Winter Haven, Fla.; and his beloved cat, Garfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 57 years, Kathleen J. Cadugan, on Nov. 26, 2020; and one sister, Eleanor Cadugan.

CADUGAN — There will be no visitation or services for David E. Cadugan, who died Monday, Oct. 31, 2022.

Memorial donations may be made to the His Kids Christian School c/o Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, Butler, PA 16002.
