Retha M. Wells, 81, of Clarion died Tuesday at Golden Living Center in Shippenville.

Born May 8, 1932, in Shippenville, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Juanita Bullock Johnston.

Retha worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion.

She was Methodist.

Surviving are two sons, Kevin Wells and his wife, Terri, of Parker and Dave Wells and his wife, Karen, of Corsica; five grandchildren, Kristen Beck and her husband, Michael, of West Sunbury, Angie Woodhall and her husband, Brian, of Apollo, Alex Wells of Corsica, Alicia Wells of Lackland Air Force Base, Texas and Brianna Burkhardt and her husband, Casey, of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; a great-grandson, Carson Beck; and soon to be great-granddaughter, Bristol Burkhardt.

Also surviving are three brothers, James Johnston and his wife, Jan, of Clarion, Robert Johnston and his wife, Opal, of Knox and William Johnston of New Bethlehem, and two sisters, Elaine Shoup Frank of Elk City and Pat Summerville of Knox.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Harry Johnston, and two sisters, Georgine Fulton and Dorothea Maxine Jeannerat.

WELLS — The family of Retha M. Wells, who died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood St., Clarion.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Young, pastor of Williamsburg Community Bible Church of God, Clarion, officiating.

Interment will be in Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
