D. Eileen Varner
D. Eileen Varner, 93, of Cabot, formerly of Butler, passed away Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
She was born Jan. 3, 1924, in Sligo, Pa., to the late Ralph Clyde Elliott and Florence Belle Males Elliott.
Eileen was as a homemaker. She attended the New Testament Baptist Church. Eileen especially enjoyed being around her family.
Eileen is survived by one son, Gene E. Varner, and his wife, Kelly, of Knox, Pa.; two daughters, Rosalee Stoner and her husband, Ronald, of Butler, and Cathy Wetzel and her husband, Carl, of Butler; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Heeter of Sligo, Pa., and Marjorie Smith and her husband, Ralph, of Mayport, Pa.; one daughter-in-law, Christine M. Varner of Clarion, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Bud” A. Varner, who she married Nov. 29, 1941, and who died Aug. 27, 1995; one son, Roger B. Varner; two sisters, Geraldine Silves and Eleanor Elliott; and two brothers, Albert Elliott and John Elliott.
VARNER — Friends of D. Eileen Varner, who died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Krajicic officiating. Interment will take place at the Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville, Pa.
