Record amount raised for hospital
CRANBERRY TWP — The Butler Health System Foundation’s annual black tie event, the Crystal Ball, broke its fundraising record this weekend.
The 430 people who attended the “Run for the Roses” Saturday night raised $190,000, up from $120,000 in 2012. Proceeds support cardiac services at the Butler Health System.
“We are pleased with the outstanding success of this year’s event and truly appreciate the continued support of the business community and our donors,” said Kris Bowser, fundraising coordinator for the foundation, said this morning.
The ball featured Kentucky Derby themed festivities. About 55 centerpieces, each with more than three dozen roses in it, decorated tables at the Pittsburgh Marriott North ballroom, Bowser said.
“The ballroom looked beautiful,” she said.
The evening included a silent auction, a live auction, a basket auction, Triple Crown horse racing and dancing.
