Diane Norton Mackrell

Diane Norton Mackrell, 61, of Portersville passed away early Friday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler, following an illness.

Born March 4, 1956, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Sarah Welsh Galaher and James Norton, Sr.

She worked as nuclear medicine technologist from 1976 to 1984 at the Beaver Medical Center and from 1984 to 2015 at the Ellwood City Hospital.

Diane was a faithful member in the Portersville-Prospect Rotary Club, where she served as president for three different terms, was a Paul Harris Fellow and volunteered on many committees.

She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved boating, gardening, traveling, camping and belonged to the Blue Bell Camping Association.

She is survived by her loving husband David Mackrell, whom she married on May 21, 1988, in Portersville; her mother Sarah Galaher of Ellwood City; her father James Norton Sr. of Fombell; her brother Jim Norton Jr. of Chewton; her beloved dog Ellie; her step sisters, Barbara Lopez of Harlansburg, Lisa (Drew) Boots of Fombell and Crissy (Robert) Nadzam of Freedom; her stepbrother Mark (Mary Jo) Brown; her mother-in-law Donna Mackrell of Chicora; her brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Diana) Mackrell of Portersville and Les (Cynthia) Mackrell of Chicora; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Melissa Hall and her stepmother Marlene Norton.

MACKRELL — A private memorial service for Diane Norton Mackrell, who died Friday, July 14, 2017, is being planned by the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Portersville-Prospect Rotary Club, PO Box 194, Portersville, PA 16051, or the Butler County Humane Society, 1002 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.

Cremation services were entrusted to theEdward L Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.
